Our Team

Prior to becoming the President and General Manager of A & A Transportation, Joe began his career in 1985 at A. D. Douglas Trucking Company, a family owned and operated business. In 1990 Joe became Vice President of Operations for the family business. In 1995 Joe joined the brokerage team at A & A Transportation; in 1998 Joe was promoted to Assistant Operations Manager. In 1999 Joe accepted the position of President and Operations Manager. Joe’s “hands on” approach to managing has allowed him to keep the same core team for many years. Joe’s commitment to providing customer service with a high level of integrity and reliability has allowed Joe to remain a well-respected member of the perishable transportation brokerage business for over 37 years.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Cuco graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1999. He went on to complete his BA from the University of the Incarnate Word in the Fall of 2003. In September of 2005, Cuco got the opportunity to join A & A as the marketing director and assistant to Joe Douglas. With the help of Joe’s experience and willingness to teach, Cuco was able to excel as a productive member of the A & A team. In July of 2007, Cuco completed the Certified Transportation Broker Course and became a CTB. Married to Michelle for 24 years, they have a son named Kellan and 3 rescue dogs. Cuco enjoys craft beer and watching or attending Baltimore Ravens games.

Monique was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and after graduating high school she joined the Air Force.  Monique spent 6 years in Louisiana while serving and in 1997 was relocated to San Antonio.  Upon arriving in San Antonio she acquired a position with A & A as the accounts payable clerk and then transferred to Accounts Receivable.  Monique was eventually promoted to Accounting Manager and has proved to be a great asset to A & A’s success.

Elaine Aleman graduated from Wheatley High School in San Antonio in 1983 and pursued her higher education at Palo Alto College while working part-time for A & A in 1995.  In April of 1996, Elaine became the Accounts Payable Manager for A & A.  She has been married for 36 years and is a mother of two, and has been blessed with five grandchildren. Elaine enjoys spending time with friends and family, and taking long road trips. After making a long and hard decision of selling her Harley she still enjoys riding as a passenger with her husband.

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Mike has made his way around the globe and landed here in San Antonio, Texas along with his wife and daughter. Mike started his logistics career over 15 years ago while living in England as an inbound/outbound traffic management officer for military shipments. From there he was a terminal manager/dispatcher for OTR/local of up to 20 trucks here in San Antonio, Texas. And finally as a broker for the last 8 years with A&A Transportation. He brings the full cycle of logistics to assist with running a smooth shipment for our customers and drivers. A jack of all trades and a master of one (transportation), on the weekends you can find Mike taking something apart and putting it back together to see how it works with a cold beer in hand.
